South Darley Pre-School Playgroup is a small, secure and friendly setting offering a home from home environment. The staff work closely with children and their families to ease the transition from home to Pre-School. The Pre-School is a committee run registered charity and is Ofsted inspected.
All staff and the volunteer committee members are CRB checked. The members of staff are experienced and fully qualified to provide a professional, quality, inclusive childcare and early years education. Our aims are to develop and maintain close, effective relationships with children and their families, and to be inclusive and flexible to enable all children to reach their potential in a safe, enjoyable environment. We value the children's own ideas and interests and offer activities both inside and outdoors to support individual development and learning. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and have close links to South Darley and Darley Churchtown Primary Schools.
New Ofsted Report Published
All of us at South Darley Pre-school Playgroup celebrated a glowing report from Ofsted in 2014 when they rated the playgroup as good in all areas. The inspector reported that the children are confident, inquisitive and interested in exploring and learning because of the relaxed, warm atmosphere and the strong bonds between children and staff. She also commented on how good working relationships between staff and parents mean that children receive support tailored to their needs and how good management and leadership leads to continual improvement in the children’s learning experiences.
Our Vision at South Darley Pre-school is to provide a safe, warm, happy and stimulating environment for young children to learn and develop to their full potential, to value all children as individuals, and to work closely with parents to ensure each child gets the best start to their education.
We aim to provide children with rich, varied and imaginative experiences to enable them to become sociable, confident young people and eager to learn ready for their next stage of education.
Places available from 2 years old. Free places for 3 and 4 year olds and for eligible 2 year olds.
